Elizabeth Antoine Named 2024-2025 Alabama High School Assistant Principal of the Year
Auburn, Ala. – December 6, 2024: Mrs. Elizabeth Cook Antoine, assistant principal at Auburn High School in the Auburn City Schools System, has been named the 2024-2025 Alabama High School Assistant Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). The Assistant Principal of the Year program is sponsored by Virco Manufacturing.
With 21 years of experience in education and eight years as an assistant principal, Mrs. Antoine is a dynamic leader known for her innovative problem-solving and commitment to student success. Her leadership has driven academic growth, improved school culture, and fostered connections across the Auburn High School community.
Mrs. Antoine has championed initiatives like the “Tiger Connect” advisory program, which builds meaningful relationships between students and trusted adults, and a professional development program grounded in Robert Marzano’s instructional framework. She has also implemented a comprehensive ACT preparation program that has contributed to significant gains in ACT scores, including three-point and four-point increases in mathematics and English, respectively.
Beyond academics, Mrs. Antoine has enriched Auburn High’s cultural and community engagement through events like the World’s Fair, celebrating the school’s diverse student body, and the Homecoming Festival, which strengthens school spirit and provides opportunities for club fundraising.

Mrs. Antoine’s leadership extends into the Auburn community, where she has served on the Auburn City Diversity Council and other local initiatives. Her dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive environment has left a lasting impact on students, staff, and families.
As Alabama High School Assistant Principal of the Year, Mrs. Antoine will serve a one-year term on the AASSP Board of Directors and represent Alabama in the National Assistant Principal of the Year program hosted by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
