AASPA Goals & Mission
Mission:
The Alabama Association of School Personnel Administrators provides leadership in promoting effective human resource practices within education through professional development activities and a broad-based resource network.
Goals:
To foster the staffing of school districts with the highest qualified individuals available through:
- encouragement of the use of definite criteria providing high standards for recruitment, selection, retention and promotion of all school personnel
- promotion of sound training and certification practices
- cooperation with school, college, university and other placement agencies
To encourage and to assist in the development and utilization of sound school personnel administration and practices through:
- support of laws and procedures designed to promote positive employer-employee relationships
- assistance to members in becoming knowledgeable in the legal aspects of the employer-employee relationship and of agreement administration
- promotion of employee assistance and counseling programs
To advance the cause of public education generally through:
- development of professional standards for personnel administrators
- improvement of the competency of school personnel administrators
- cooperation with other professional state and national administrator groups and with regional and state school personnel administrator associations
- cooperation with interpreted community agencies and professional associations in the furtherance of the aforesaid aims and purposes
