The Leadership Officer Training Corps (LOTC) at Booker T. Washington Middle School was a hands-on leadership and character-building program for middle school students. It helped students grow in confidence, discipline, respect, and responsibility through military-style training and teamwork. Students in LOTC took part in drill and ceremony, physical fitness, and team-building activities. They also explored exciting areas like robotics and drone technology, gaining real-world skills in science and engineering while developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The program focused on leadership, academic success, and good citizenship. Cadets learned to set goals, work as a team, and take pride in themselves, the school, and the community. Through parades, school events, and service projects, LOTC students represented Booker T. Washington Middle School with pride while serving as positive role models. The program welcomed all students who were ready to learn, lead, and grow and gave them the tools to succeed in school and beyond by building strong character, leadership skills, and a love for service. LOTC was more than just a class – it was a foundation for future success.
