In an era where information technology is both an asset and a liability, Enterprise High School (EHS) sought to empower students with the skills necessary to conquer the challenges of an ever-evolving world through its Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Program of Career Technical Education. EHS’s proximity to Fort Novosel as well as the increasing need for qualified workers in the IT and cybersecurity industries highlighted the vast benefits available to students through the completion of the program. Students were able to earn the CompTIA Security+ certification, which is the most widely adopted ISO/ANSI-accredited early career cybersecurity certification. Additionally, by partnering with local industry leaders, students were able to complete a career projects course, an internship where they gained hands-on cybersecurity and infrastructure experience in their chosen career paths. Lastly, students were able to display skills to future employers through virtual and in-person competitions. By partnering with industry leaders and looking to the needs of one of the area’s largest employers, Fort Novosel, Enterprise High School offered students the skills to safely navigate the digital world, develop critical thinking abilities, identify and avoid cyber threats, as well as pave the way for employment in the growing fields of IT, network security, and information analysis.
