AASSP High School District Assistant Principals of the Year Recognized

Montgomery, Ala, November 11, 2025 — The Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP), an affiliate of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS), proudly recognized the 2025-2026 High School District Assistant Principals of the Year during an awards session held at the recent AASSP/AAMSP Fall Conference. These outstanding administrators were honored for their leadership, dedication, and service to Alabama’s high schools and the communities they serve.

The District High School Assistant Principals of the Year are:

District 1 Brenda Box, Mary G. Montgomery High School, Mobile County
District 2 Mindy Blankenship, Ariton School, Dale County
District 3 Theresa King, Francis Marion School, Perry County
District 4 Kenyatta Harris, Elmore County Technical Training Center, Elmore County
District 5 Kevin Thomas, Hillcrest High School, Tuscaloosa County
District 6 Aaron Studdard, Piedmont High School, Piedmont City
District 7N David Hill, Lexington High School, Lauderdale County
District 7S Stacy Tinch, Haleyville High School, Haleyville City
District 8 Jennifer Flanagan, James Clemens High School, Madison City

One of these distinguished district winners will be selected as the 2025-2026 AASSP High School Assistant Principal of the Year, with the statewide announcement expected in the coming weeks.

“These assistant principals are essential to the success of their schools. Their leadership, encouragement, and commitment help create the kind of learning environments where teachers feel supported and students can excel,” said Dr. Farrell Seymore, executive director of CLAS and AASSP. “We are proud to celebrate these remarkable educators and grateful for the tremendous impact they make in high schools across Alabama.”

The overall winner of the 2025-2026 AASSP High School Assistant Principal of the Year will be recognized in Washington, D.C., as part of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) High School Assistant Principal of the Year program. There, the Alabama winner will join other state winners from across the country and compete for the title of National High School Assistant Principal of the Year, showcasing the exceptional leadership and impact of Alabama’s school administrators on a national stage.
