CLAS is a leading advocate on behalf of public school administrators. It’s important that decisions made by lawmakers are informed by the experience and expertise of public school leaders. We give school administrators the information and resources they need to become effective advocates for their schools, staff, and students. Together, CLAS and school administrators craft policies that support the achievement and success of every student. CLAS constantly monitors and reports on all issues that directly impact Alabama public schools.

CLAS is tracking bills throughout the legislative session. Stay tuned to our Legislative Action Center to see the status of the legislation we're following.

Register for an Advocacy Day

The CLAS advocacy team invites affiliates to Montgomery for CLAS Advocacy Days during the legislative session so participants get an up-close view of the legislative process. The CLAS Advocacy Team will update you on bills affecting education, hear about education issues facing CLAS members, and prep you to meet with legislators.

Members will visit the Alabama State House to attend legislative committee meetings, watch floor action, and meet with legislators to relay CLAS legislative priorities, tell your personal stories, and develop relationships with lawmakers for the benefit of your school.

Members select from morning or afternoon sessions and lunch will be provided by CLAS. Participants must be a CLAS member.
