CLAS and ALA-CASE: Novice Special Education Coordinator

PLU Participants must complete ALL activities and be a member of ALA-CASE.

Conference/Training fees must be paid before PLU can be awarded.

Phase I: Content and Knowledge 

• Attend three (3) ALSDE Networking with Novice Sessions

(October 25, 2023; November 15, 2023; December 13, 2023; January 17, 2024; February 21, 2024)

• Attend one ALA-CASE Novice Academy (September 22, 2023 or February 28, 2024)

Phase II: Implementation

• Submit Reflective Summary to the ALA-CASE PLU Managers

  (Note: Effective implementation should evidence how you have taken the information from your Phase I activities and shared it. This could include activities you have led/facilitated or activities where you met, discussed, or collaborated regarding the knowledge gained with colleagues and/or stakeholders as related to Standard VII: Management of the Learning Environment. Implementation must note evidence of your specific leadership in your organization.

Phase III: Reflection/Evaluation

• Participate in two District Coordinator’s Meeting no later than April 1, 2024.  Sign in Sheets and PLU Evaluation forms must be submitted to ALA-CASE PLU Managers:
