SUMMARY:2024 September Leadership Institute: Empathy and Repairing Harm: We Can't Have One Without the Other
DESCRIPTION:Empathy in School Leadership\nEmpathy and Repairing Harm: We Can’t Have One Without the Other\nPresented by: Brittany Hogan and Jennifer Strauser\n9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Lunch on your own 11:00 – 12:30)\nSign-In begins at 8:00 a.m. \nForbes magazine (2021) and other research institutes state that “empathy is the most important leadership skill…” This finding relates not only to the business world but also to schools. Navigating the social-emotional needs of students and staff requires us to suspend judgment\, and instead emotionally understand another’s experience. This training will link the core assumptions outlined in the book\, Circle Forward: Building a Restorative School Community\, to the practice of empathy and repairing harm. Through a deep understanding of empathy\, restorative work\, and the tenets of dialogue vs. discussion\, school leaders can develop a true understanding of the core assumptions. Additionally\, educational leaders will hone the vital skills of unconditional positive regard and presumption of positive intentions. \nAll Leadership Institutes are in-person events only. No virtual participation available. \n\n\n\nSeptember 17\, 2024 \nMarriott Space & Rocket Center\nHuntsville\, AL\n\nSeptember 18\, 2024\n\nMarriott Legends\nPrattville\, AL \n\nSeptember 19\, 2024 \nBaldwin Co Virtual Secondary School\nDaphne\, AL\n\n\n\n  \nFREE for Leadership Institute System Subscribers! \nCLAS offers system subscriptions for the Leadership Institute series to school systems.
