Leadership Institute Series 2010-2011 PDF Print E-mail

The 2010-2011 Leadership Institute Series includes five seminars hosted in various locations throughout Alabama. CLAS offers system subscriptions so that an unlimited number of employees within the subscribing system may attend any or all of the Leadership Institutes in a given school year.

All Leadership Institute sessions begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. and the program runs from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Remember: System subscriptions do not offer the benefits of being an actual CLAS member. If you are unsure if you are an active member of CLAS, you should contact our office at (800) 239-3616.

Concepts, Ideas, and Strategies to Teach Below-Grade Level Students From Low-Income Families

Attendees will gain a deep understanding of the 33 dynamics of poverty. They will learn over 100 classroom strategies to address the unique learning needs and narrow the achievement gap of low-income, “gray area” and below-grade-level students. Come learn ways to accommodate the needs of high absentee and transient students, how to help students perform better on group standardized tests, strategies to help students who can’t read the textbooks, tips to reduce or eliminate discipline problems, and best practices that support the needs of low-income students.
